SHARK PANIC AT ROCKAWAY  BEACH  This thresher shark found its way out of the surf and onto the beach yesterday.http://www.nypost.com/seven/09022007/news/regionalnews/get_out_of_the_water_.htm    The paper copy of the New York Post displayed this article on the cover over a week ago.  This article caught my attention more for the headline than the actual subject.  The New York Post is arousing fear in people in the New York/ New Jersey area by titling the article “Get Out of The Water!”  In reality it seems as though someone caught this deep water shark and released it in shallow waters where it immediately died.  The media should inform people of the truth about sharks to help reduce the plummeting population.  An article with a headline like this only feeds into the problem.
